The United Nations, Darfur & Global Warming

Now we know the REAL reason for the genocide in Darfur. It's global warming. Just ask UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon, in an article published Saturday.

“The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising at least in part from climate change,” Ban said in a Washington Post opinion column. UN statistics showed that rainfall declined some 40 percent over the past two decades, he said, as a rise in Indian Ocean temperatures disrupted monsoons. “This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming,” the South Korean diplomat wrote.

“It is no accident that the violence in Darfur erupted during the drought,” Ban said in the Washington daily. When Darfur’s land was rich, he said, black farmers welcomed Arab herders and shared their water, he said.

With the drought, however, farmers fenced in their land to prevent overgrazing. “For the first time in memory, there was no longer enough food and water for all. Fighting broke out,” he said.

...uh... ...wow...

While I should not be surprised, this should illustrate just how far left the UN has gone and how out of touch with reality the United Nations really is.

The ACLU will probably sue the crocs for interfering with and preventing the lions from expressing themselves.

The Daily Kos will decry and verbally trash the lions for attacking a weaker, undefended element of the buffalo society.

The New York Times will expose the motives of the herd mentality of the buffaloes in protecting a young innocent life.

Star Wars Has Nothing Over Vermont

Jonathan V. Last has an hilarious post over at the Weekly Standard about how the nutters of Vermont are lost in their own little world. Err... I should say a BIG world called Star Wars. Unless you've been in hyperspace for an extended trip to the Outer Rim, you know that the big discussion in Vermont this week has been of seceding from the Union. Go read the post for a great laugh.

Here's what cracked me up.

I've been called dorkofascist for pointing out that the complaints we hear in the Star Wars films about the Galactic Republic aren't particularly beyond the pale: Namely that the Republic had grown too big and sclerotic to be governable and responsive to the needs of individual planets.

Now here's a hippie Vermonster talking about why Vermont should secede from the United States: "The argument for secession is that the U.S. has become an empire that is essentially ungovernable--it's too big, it's too corrupt and it no longer serves the needs of its citizens."

Is this newly appointed Vermont storm trooper one of today's Green Mountain Boys? Notice the credentials from the Emperor's personal guard. Wow....

Momma Moonbat Has Had Enough

Well, well, well. Momma Moonbat, aka Cindy Sheehan, has decided she has had enough. Either she has finally realized that she was a mere pawn and face of the looney left or life's realities have finally caught up with her. She has apparently realized that the movement she had embraced "often puts personal egos above peace and human life.”

As a mother that has lost a child in the service of our country, she deserves respect and anything needed to help her heal. As a willing advocate of liberal defeatism, she deserves whatever has happened in her life. She made the choice to dishonor her family and country by her actions. We all are accountible for our actions.

On one hand, I hurt for Cindy because I, too, have lost a child though not to the honorable service that Cindy's son, Casey, did. No one understands what it is to lose a child except those that have lost one. On the other hand, Cindy sacrificed the rest of her family to the altar of liberal defeatism and became a political pawn in the elite left's drive to bring America to it's knees. They have used her and have now tossed her aside. Will someone on the left step up now and pay her delinquent medical bills as a way of saying thanks for being a pawn? Don't hold your breath.

I have spent every available cent I got from the money a "grateful" country gave me when they killed my son and every penny that I have received in speaking or book fees since then. I have sacrificed a 29 year marriage and have traveled for extended periods of time away from Casey’s brother and sisters and my health has suffered and my hospital bills from last summer (when I almost died) are in collection because I have used all my energy trying to stop this country from slaughtering innocent human beings. I have been called every despicable name that small minds can think of and have had my life threatened many times."

I am glad she has stepped out of the game. She has done a lot of damage. But I think she is broken and has not learned the lessons of her mistakes.

Al Gore Has Issues

Al Gore spoke this week to the adoring minions of global warming at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, California. Zombietown has the scoop and lot's of pics. He gets all the great action! Zombie was johnny on the spot and was inside for all the hypocrisy.... errr....enlightenment.. In addition to hearing all the rhetoric Al normally spews, Zombie did his usual roving reporter investigation of just how much the religion of global warming has impacted the nutroots of the left. The answer.... apparently not too much by the looks of all the gas guzzling SUV's and cars in the parking lot. Go see all the pics at Zombietime of our boy Al and all the carbon spewers in the parking lot. Fun fun fun!

Al Gore has issues and it scares me to think just how close he was to being our President and commander-in-chief.

The Hypocrisy Of The Left

Zombietime has a great expose' of the hypocrisy of the left and how the nutroots say one thing but do another. Check out Zombie's cavalcade of gas-guzzling contemporary automobiles with hypocritical bumper stickers. On one hand its hilarious, on the other hand its pretty sad.

Problem is, this 2002 Honda CR-V averages only 23 mpg and puts out 8.0 tons of greenhouse gas emissions every year. WOW! Go look at all the vehicles. Wonderful nutroot hypocrisy.
