Iran - The Nuclear Storm Continues to Gather VI

The Hudson Institute's Hillel Fradkin has a great article in the Weekly Standard about the Tyrant of Tehran's real intentions. It should send chills down the spines of everyone. There is a cold certainty about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, that clearly reveals his intentions in what he does. The Tyrant's letter to President Bush is both an invitation to discard liberal democracy and embrace Islam as well as a declaration of war. Of course, liberals and MSM think the letter is an opening to dialogue.

A part of Hillel Fradkin's article is worth noting when it comes to understanding the Tyrant-

It is true that Ahmadinejad presently occupies a subordinate office, a deficiency reinforced by the fact that he is not a jurist, let alone an ayatollah, and thus lacks the credentials for supreme rule as defined by the principle of the regime--"the rule of the jurisprudent."

But he may be in the process of addressing that difficulty by enlisting a source of authority--the Hidden Imam--consistent with and even superior to that principle. Ahmadinejad has presented himself as the herald or "prophet" of the Hidden Imam--the ultimate, if absent, ruler and authority for so-called Twelver Shiism--and has gone so far as to claim that he had a vision of the Imam, at the U.N. of all places. (emphasis mine)
Ahmadinejad sees this struggle in religious terms and will not be satisfied until he accomplishes his goals. He has declared war. It's the late 1930's all over again. "Peace in our time!" History repeats itself. War is coming.

War With China?

As usual, Mark Steyn has an interesting perspective on what many people believe is a future war with China. While war may be inevitable over resources or desire to dominate the world stage, Mark says that the real reason China will go to war is it's current weakness. China has a hugely distorted population gender gap between it's male and female population. With it's past policies of one child per family, people quite naturally discarded and killed babies that were female, choosing a child that would more likely have the chance of supporting parents in their old age. Well, now the result is an ugly monster of 119 men for every 100 women. Not a good situation for a country that now has millions and millions of young adult males with no chance of a mate. So what do you do if you can't find a mate to settle down to raise a family? You go in the military. What happens to all that testosterone? You find a way to use that energy and decrease the male population. To the Chinese, a war would also make sense when they also look north to the Russian wastelands in Siberia. Russia has a decreasing male population with a growing female population. The coming war with Iran will be ugly, making the war in Iraq look like a picnic. But the inevitable conflict with China could be the mother of all wars.

The Left's New Math & Illegal Immigration

I saw this example of new math on PoliPundit. It kinda relates how I feel about the left as well as the pandering of the Republicans to illegal immigration.

Last week I purchased a burger and fries for $3.58.

The counter girl took my $4.00 and I pulled 8 cents from my pocket and gave it to her. She stood there, holding the nickel and 3 pennies. While looking at the screen on her register, I sensed her discomfort and tried to tell her to just give me two quarters, but she hailed the manager for help. While he tried to explain the transaction to her, she stood there and cried.

Oh, This Terrible Economy!

LOL! Even Al-Reuters has a positive article about the nation's economy. The nation's GDP grew at an annual rate of 5.3% in the first quarter. This is the largest percentage growth in 2 1/2 years. And this happened in spite of Katrina and it's aftermath, the war on terror and the liberation of Iraq, as well as the rising cost of fuel. "How can this be?" the left must be saying while scratching their heads and drinking their fufu coffees. They have pounded and pounded on President Bush about "JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!" Yet the economy is roaring. It seems that lowering taxes, once again, is the tip of the spear for a growing economy. When government does even a little bit to get out of the market's way, the market always finds a way to survive and thrive. It also shows how the market does not live on doom and gloom, much like the rest of the middle of the country. In spite of a fantastic economy, Al-Reuters is true to form when it refers to a slowing economy in the coming months; "The GDP report pointed to another reason for anticipating slower future growth, noting that wages and salaries were under pressure." Ahh, thank you Al-Reuters for bringing us down to earth.

The Shifting Sands of the Left

Hugh Hewitt has a great article today about the ideology of the left attempting to move our country away from it's foundation principles. If there is no foundation to what our country holds true, then we are then free to change our foundation to whatever ideology is fashionable. We then ride the gravy train of moral relativism to whatever hellish abomination of a country we want. In other words, we then would be no different than any other two-bit country that changes it's constitution and guiding principles whenever a crisis or popular politician cries "change".

The proverb that declares "the wise man builds his house upon the rock" is as true today as it always has been true. This is a guiding principle behind a strict contructionist interpretation of our Constitution. Our Constitution is written in stone and difficult to change for a very wise reason. Moral relativism is dangerous and adherents to the idea that our Constitution is a living document and is subject to change at a whim advocate building a house on shifting sand. A house where self is supreme above all else, where the coffers of government are ripe for picking, where right is wrong and wrong is right, where it is illegal to utter anything that sounds religious or comes from faith.

I really appreciate Hugh's comments about Abraham Lincoln's second inaugural address. President Lincoln, perhaps our country's greatest president, espoused these words which are "built upon the rock" in the midst of civil war.

Neither party expected for the war the magnitude or the duration which it has already attained. Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with or even before the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible and pray to the same God, and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces, but let us judge not, that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered. That of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has His own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offenses; for it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense cometh." If we shall suppose that American slavery is one of those offenses which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South this terrible war as the woe due to those by whom the offense came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a living God always ascribe to Him? If Lincoln had uttered these words today, he would viscerated by the ideologues on the left as well as the MSM. He would be decried as a racist, a jingoist, accused of trying to establish a religion, of declaring moral superiority in his decisions and who knows what else. How dare Abraham talk like this? I thank God President Lincoln built his house upon the rock. He knew where our country's foundation lay.

RU486 was supposed to be the answer for safe, easy killing of babies in the first trimester of pregnancy. Well, people are people and will, of course, abuse the law and higher moral standards to do what they want when they want. Read this report and follow a link about what happened at a death clinic in Alabama when a staff member gave a woman who was in her third trimester RU486. Pro-choice indeed.

Iran - The Nuclear Storm Continues to Gather V

MSM and the left continues to give the Tyrant of Tehran a pass in whatever he does. At best, they consider Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a blooming idiot. At worst, they consider him a pawn of the mullahs in Iran. Ahmadinejad is not an idiot nor is he a pawn. He is brilliant. At our country's great peril, MSM and the left are blind to what is happening. War is coming. A war that will not be like other wars if we continue to be blind as to what the Tyrant wants to do. The Tyrant's nationalist dreams for Iran and his dreams of an Islamic caliphate with Iran as it's head continue to drive and dictate his actions. Ahmadinejad, along with the mullahs, wants to dominate the region and become a world player. They also want to eliminate Israel and all Jews. Make no mistake, once Iran has nukes, they WILL use them to achieve their goals. The dreams they have about Iran's role in changing the world allows them to justify whatever means they need to implement their dreams. Even if it means lighting up the planet with nuclear fire. The struggle they anticipate is a religious battle, not a political discourse on ideas. They will die for Mohammed and their God in order to make the world submit to Islam.

While I am confident that President Bush and our government is fully aware of the dangers of what is coming, the MSM and the left are making us incapable of acting decisively and with unity. If Iran is closer to a nuke than what we are being led to believe and war breaks out unexpectedly, the MSM and left have acted in a treasonous manner against our country and should answer for it. Many people are going to die before this is all over.

Iran - The Nuclear Storm Continues to Gather IV

It appears that the Tyrant of Tehran may be setting the stage for action of some kind. His letter to President Bush is not merely an incoherent rambling or an olive branch to diffuse international tensions. His letter seems to be a da’wa, which is a call to accept Islam. Mohammed requires Muslims to issue this call before fighting their enemies. It seems that the tyrant wants to appear righteous before he starts something. After all, did he not issue the call to the President to accept Islam?
Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them….If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya [the tax on non-Muslims specified in Qur’an 9:29]. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294)
